Makeup that tells the story.
Film, editorial, runway, bridal, and creature work — built with passion, precision, and a singular point of view.
"Every face is a canvas — and every canvas has a story."
Based in Toronto and available worldwide, I create work that moves people — whether that's a character that stops you mid-scene, a runway moment that leaves a room breathless, or a bridal chair where someone feels completely, beautifully themselves.
Ready to bring your vision to life? Whether it's film, fashion, or your most important day — I'm here for it.
Based in Toronto and available worldwide, I create work that moves people — whether that's a character that stops you mid-scene, a runway look that leaves a room breathless, or a moment in a bridal chair that makes someone feel completely, beautifully themselves.
Hey — I'm Brooke Simmons.
I'm a freelance makeup artist working across film, editorial, runway, bridal, and prosthetics. I take pride in unique, considered work — and in the way the people who sit in my chair feel while I'm doing it. How you feel matters just as much as how you look.
I put my whole self into every project. For film, that means re-reading scripts and studying references until I fully understand the character living on someone's face. For editorial and runway, it's chasing the version of a look that feels both on brief and unmistakably mine. For bridal, it's listening — really listening — to what someone wants to feel like on a day they'll never forget.
One of the best compliments I've ever received was from someone on set who told me "even if you had all the money in the world, you'd still be doing this job." He was right. Makeup is the way I express every side of myself — the emotional, the strange, the beautiful, the storyteller. In day-to-day life I show one version of me; in my work, you get all of it. Vulnerability on a canvas, instead of in words.
I'm a CMU (College of Makeup Art and Design) alumna, where I had the privilege of training under artists I deeply respect — Jessica Fulmer, Lesley Olson, Barbara Alexander, and more. They didn't just teach me how to apply makeup; they taught me how to think about it. Why details matter. How to carry yourself on set. How product knowledge becomes creative freedom. And how to keep growing long after you leave the classroom.
I'll always be learning, always pushing what I'm capable of. And if someone asks whether I can do something I've never tried before, the answer is the same every time: I'll figure it out, and I'll get it done.
If any of that resonates — let's create something together.
Always chasing the next adventure
Bit of an adrenaline junkie
Family and friends come first, always
Genuinely obsessed with art in every form
Lives to create — inside and outside of work
Film has had my heart since I was a kid — and getting to be part of that magic, brushes in hand, is something I'll never take for granted. It's storytelling at its most immersive. Every detail on a face supports the script. And yes — the bloodier, the better.
Editorial is where I get to play. Inspired by art, nature, and the decades that shaped beauty, I love bending the rules of what makeup is supposed to be. Sometimes the simplest look says the most — sometimes the most unexpected material becomes the whole look.
Runway is where instinct meets precision. Hands-on across kids' fashion shows to couture presentations, I adapt fast and work under pressure — always with an eye for what reads under the lights. Fast, bold, collaborative — and I love every second of it.
I've had the privilege of working with clients of all ages, races, and skin tones — my passion is enhancing natural beauty and creating timeless looks. When you leave my chair, you should feel radiant, confident, and unmistakably yourself — never like someone else entirely.
This is where imagination has no ceiling. Every texture, every detail considered until something that lives only in someone's head starts to make perfect sense in the world around it. I want to put work on screen that stops you mid-scene — the way Mrs. Doubtfire stopped me as a kid.
